Metallic embroidery and neon thread on satin and felt with glass beads. 95"H x 35"W x 12"D
A buttery vintage satin cloak supports high stitch density machine embroideries of Virginia wildflowers and the rainbow-colored human energy system of the chakras. The core structural design device of the six chakras on the cloak is the infinity symbol. Glass beads surround the chakras and the wildflowers. Above the cloak floats an ornately framed 7th crown chakra.
The healer is not a caretaker or a miracle worker. The healer, an agent of change, is in all of us. The body has the imperative to heal. I do not dispel science, but change is a unifying force. Life is change. Our bodies are no longer the same as in infancy. What if death was just the beginning? A new opportunity of countless possibilities. The true power of the healer is the capacity to dream. Artists are the designated dreamers of society who transcend the refines of time and space to reveal our state of being, our collective past, and possible futures, also our pain and joy. In our dream state, we can select our future. Dreaming needs to be encouraged to arrive at a paradigm shift to save ourselves and our beautiful earth.

I first encountered the connection between embroidery and the sacred when daydreaming at the compulsory Sunday morning church service. I wondered who was it that made Father's white vestments with all the beautiful stitch work. As he poured the wine into the chalice, I was anxious. Do not spill it on the fancy starched altar cloth. I dreamt I rose above the congregation and my elegant buttery satin gown swept across the tops of their heads, and I was free.
