One of the greatest joys in my art production is the selection of fabrics and matching the thread. This Mid Century Modern collection uses my vast collection of vintage fabrics as a starting point. The color and the feeling of the chakra dictate the fabric selection. As I work with these vintage fabrics, I see my mother's hands. I am indebted to her passion for craft and her willingness to pass on that passion. Her ability to up-cycle and make do with available materials made a childhood home for me in working-class suburban Australia. I see this same tenacity in my neighbors in my adopted home on Catawba Mountain. Framed 10" x 10" on silk and cotton.
